The teaser for the highly anticipated Bollywood comedy Housefull 5 was abruptly removed from YouTube on May 9, following a copyright claim by Mofusion Studios over the use of the track “Laal Pari“. The teaser, which premiered on April 30 via the official Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment YouTube channel, was taken down without prior notice, triggering a major industry controversy.
When viewers attempted to access the teaser on YouTube, they were met with the message:
“The video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Mofusion Studios.”

Film Set for June 2025 Release
Housefull 5, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, is slated for a theatrical release on June 6, 2025. The fifth installment in the popular franchise stars a power-packed ensemble including Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh, and Sonam Bajwa. Despite the teaser’s removal from YouTube, the video continues to circulate on Instagram through the cast’s official accounts.
Yo Yo Honey Singh Asserts Ownership of “Laal Pari“
Amid the copyright controversy, rapper and music producer Yo Yo Honey Singh has submitted a written declaration asserting that he holds sole ownership of the track “Laal Pari“. He further confirmed that he has exclusively licensed the song to Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the matter revealed:
“The song ‘”Laal Pari” was included in the teaser and is composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh. Mofusion Studios claimed they owned the rights. However, Honey Singh has officially clarified in writing that he alone owns the song.”

Legal Action Initiated by Sajid Nadiadwala
Backed by Honey Singh’s official statement, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has initiated legal proceedings against Mofusion Studios and raised concerns about YouTube’s handling of the situation.
The Bollywood Hungama report continued:
“Given this strong evidence, the production house has decided to take legal action. Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment is one of India’s most respected banners. The removal of their teaser without any verification was unjust. They are also upset with YouTube for acting without consulting the creators, despite the channel having over 1.6 million subscribers and a clean track record.”
Legal Notice Demands Immediate Reinstatement or Damages
A legal notice was served on May 12, demanding that YouTube immediately reinstate the teaser or face a Rs 25 crore defamation lawsuit.
“The legal team has asked YouTube to re-upload the teaser immediately or face a damage claim of Rs. 25 crores,” the source added.
Mofusion Studios and Their Industry Presence
Mofusion Studios, the claimant in the copyright dispute, is an Indian music label known for its work with prominent artists such as Diljit Dosanjh and Jasmine Sandlas. Their claim to ownership of “Laal Pari“ is being disputed by both Yo Yo Honey Singh and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

Conclusion: Industry Awaits Resolution
This legal tussle between two major entertainment entities raises questions about digital copyright enforcement and due diligence by platforms like YouTube. As the situation unfolds, all eyes remain on the legal outcome and whether Housefull 5’s teaser will make a return to YouTube ahead of the film’s summer 2025 release. The controversy underscores the complexities of music rights in Indian cinema and the challenges creators face in protecting their intellectual property.
